It is pure white rock compared to the Black Granite seen on these hills. The larger one is located on the southern spur of the Shevaroy ranges below the villages of Guntur which consists of pure white quartz. And the other is located in the east overlooking the Ghat road, above the 60' bridge. Access to this one is from Tipperary Estate.

The Yercaud Lake, a picturesque pool surrounded by gardens and trees, is one of the main attractions of Yercaud. You can enjoy boating at the Yercaud Lake. If you like to paddle the boat yourself then the paddling boats are a good option otherwise you also have the option of the boatman rowing it for you as you relax in the calm waters of the Lake. The garden surrounding the lake is well groomed and best seen during the month of May when the Summer Festival is organised. Boating in the cold water of the lake is enchanting as well as refreshing.

Yercaud Lake is one of the prime attractions of the hill station, surrounded by well groomed lush green gardens and wellwooded trees. The Summer festival held in May is not to be missed. One can opt for paddling or rowing boats for a trip around the lake. There are a number of beautiful parks surrounding the lake such as Anna Park, Lake Park, Gandhi Park and Children's Park. Lady's seat offers breathtaking views of the Ghats, especially at night. Towards the extreme right, one can see Mettur Dam from here. More than 100 years old, Holy Trinity Church is well maintained. The other popular churches include the Sacred Heart Church, Lutheran Church, St Joseph's Church and The Retreat Church. National Orchidarium with India's third largest orchid house, 300 ft high Killiyur waterfalls, the Servaroyan temple atop the Servaroyan hill and the Small Lake famous for being fed by seven wells are some other highlights of the city.

Yercaud boast of a beautiful Yercaud Lake, which is surrounded by absolute greenery and wild woods. You can enjoy the pleasure of boating at the lake. One can avail the boating facilities available here. Boats come in two options. Paddling ones for a couple or four and the other type where there is a guy rowing it for you as you relax.

The Summer Festival is held near the pool in the month of May and attracts several tourists from all over India. The Anna Park is close to the Yercaud Lake. It is an attraction especially for children as there are swings and slides for them to enjoy. Sitting close to the Yercaud Lake you can spot the deer and the peacock This is the first place in Yercaud that catches the attention of travelers. No matter how many beautiful lakes one has seen, they always find this pool of water extremely appealing and tempting. The water is cold and plea sing and it leaves you refreshed to your deepest self. Enjoy a scintillating boat ride in the lake, which is amidst the most breathtaking gardens and trees. What you will see from this crystal clear lake is greenery all around.

Imagine a tranquil lake that is abutted by a scenic pool with a well maintained garden and deep, dark woods that hold their silence, awaiting your company. The Yercaud Lake is probably the first in your list of places to see. It is also the venue for the Summer Festival that is organized every May. The lake is reputed to have a history of a number of deaths good swimmers have gone down and never turned up.But don't get scared a little caution practiced and there's nothing to worry.

The Big Lake is the center of attraction at Yercaud. Surrounded by greenery and beautiful flower gardens, this lake also offers boating facilities.The lovely lake amidst lush surroundings is the main attraction of Yercaud.

Located near the Big Lake is the Anna Park where children can have fun on the slides and play in the open ground.

The main attraction of Yercaud is the big lake or Emerald lake which has a flower garden on one bank and thickly wooded trees on the other sides.Near the Lake is Anna Park, with a beautiful garden. A summer festival is organised in the month of May during which the blossoming is at it's best and it attracts a lot of tourists. In the centre of this natural lake there is an island that is connected by an over bridge to the mainland. There is also a floating fountain in the center. Paddle boating facilities are available in the lake. The lake is deep and care should be taken to avoid fatality.Prominent among them are kids fancy flower shows, dog shows, boating races. There is also a small lake fed by seven wells, situated in the close vicinity of town.

The lake is surrounded by a Deer Park, a leisure park and a number of hotels in the vicinity. The Deer park has a few population of deer and peacocks and is a suitable playground for kids. It will be closed by 5.00 p.m.

This land once occupied by the tribals, is said to have been abandoned when plague struck the area. The Government used this area for Teak Wood plantation. Bisons can be frequently here. The Vaniar River which leads to the Vaniar Dam passes through this forest.

The Elephant Tooth Rocks are visible from this point. There is an estate adjoining this point known as Tipperary Estate which was once a posh hotel catering to the elite of British India from 1930 to 1940. If visited at night time, it offers a mesmerizing view of the Salem town below.
